Easter!

Today was easter, as you all know, and I had a very good one this year. I woke up at 5:20 in the morning, to take a shower (not my idea of vacation) because we have a sunrise service in central park. It's really fun because we get to do the church service on a bunch of rocks, right beside the lake in central park. I woke up and we looked for our eggs, and then our baskets. In my basket I got, a king size Hershey's bar, a three musketeers bar, starburst, a pinwheel (that liv was very excited about) some peeps, and a solid milk chocolate cross. By the way, it came in a bucket for the beach, and it was full to the bottom with jolly ranchers.

Maddy

I met Maddy on like the second day of school, because she was in my advisory and we have been buddy's sense. Yesterday she called and asked if me and olivia (my little sister) wanted to go bowling with her family and her. We went and had soooooo much fun! It was really fun, and her dad also took us out to eat at the fifth avenue diner. We got to walk her neighbors dog, inspector luis. That was fun to because when we were walking down garfield we passed the garden type thing that was just covered in snails! Maddy was scared to put one on her hand so i did it so many times and she eventually put one on her hand for a couple minutes, the she said, "ok, get if off now." I named mine George, and she named hers Bob. Our little sisters had fun too because they are close to the same age.

Talent Show

Tomorrow is the talent show and instead of doing my dance (which me and Rosie worked over 10 hours on) i am going to be the curtain person for the show! It's really fun backstage with Selena and all the acts coming and going back there, but it takes a lot of effort to continually open and close the curtains, and it hurts your hands! Anyway i hope that the show will go well and everyone will have fun with it.

Movie review: Soul Surfer

Saturday i went to see a movie called Soul Surfer and it was by far one of the best movies i have ever seen. It was about a girl named Bethany Hamilton who was a Surfer for all of her life until the incident. She was surfing in the water when a shark attacked her and bit off her left arm. she did not give up her dream, and wanted to keep surfing. She trained and trained for the regionals and her dad made her a special board with a handle. GO TO THE MOVIES NOW AND SEE IT

Saterday fun!

Saturday was really fun because when I woke up, i read my AWESOME book for a while. (BTW the book is the hunger games and i am addicted to it.) Then i got a phone call from my friend Nathalie (and twin sister Anabel) wondering if i wanted to hang out that day. I ended up going to her house for the day, and later our other friend Rosie met up with us at her house. We played gymnastics for a while on their roof deck, because Anabel takes gymnastics so she had a mat. Then we decided to go to a soda shop about a block from their house. It's called farmacy and it's a really awesome place. We got a couple sundaes and when we got back it was time for my mom to pick me up because we were going to go see a movie. (Soul Surfer) In the end we ended up all going to go see Soul Surfer, and we all loved it so much we couldn't stop talking. That was a really fun Saturday, and i think my friends will agree.

Date with daddy :)

Last night i got to go on a date with my dad. We went to eat one of my favorite foods... thai! We went into the city and went to a thai place called lantern. It was REALLY good! After we walked a little bit because he wanted to get a new mets hat. (yes we are METS fans) We passed a dunkn donuts/ basken robins, and he got me ice cream :) talk about all my favorite foods! yumm

Talent show

On April 15 at brooklyn prospect there will be a TALENT SHOW!!! I am so excited to see all the different acts, and to do my own too! I am doing a dance with Rosie to a song be Justin Timberlake, and it's really turning out awesome! :) Can't wait until April 15th! (which is also the renaissance fair, in which all of the sixth graders have to do a presentation!)

I miss her...

The past October, my grandma lost the battle of cancer, and it was really weird because the only time i cried was at the funeral. I must have cried all my tears some how... the past few days i have been really missing her, and the sad songs don't help. (i have then here on the post) I try to tell myself that it's not a sad thing because she is in a better place now, but some how the tears find their way to flow down my cheeks. Some times i picture her with me, and what it was like when i use to call her, and see how she was feeling. I find myself staring out the window, remembering her laugh, her smile, and trying to picture all of our great moment together. Some times i totally forget, and say to my self, "hey i should call grandma sometime, i haven't talked to her in a while i wonder how she is doing." But then, i remember. She is not there to pick up the phone. It's seems imposable sometimes to be that she really is gone. I try to talk to people sometimes, but the words that want to say, just never come out. It seems to be these songs that i turn to help me, and to get me through the day. I hope they will help you to.

Drama... when will it end?

Today at school was probably one of the worst days of drama yet. People were crying, people were crowding and asking questions. It was pretty bad. Then, people started to make you take sides! How are you supposed to take sides if both people are your really good friends! maybe tomorrow. Hopefully much better.

Me... Alli

Hey! This is me... Alli. I know it says that it's char (my mom) but this blog is mine. In my blog i will be writing about my life, my struggles, my fun, and my friends and family. First of all, i want to introduce myself. Well, of corse, my name is alli. i live in Brooklyn New York! I grew up in Michigan, and moved here a little over a year ago. I go to Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, and have WONDERFUL friends, family, and life! Thats enough for now, going to bed. School in the morning... :( Signing out. good night troops.

so proud

A few months ago, I expressed some concerns regarding the academic performance of our sweet middle schooler. I discussed it with several close friends and family members. Although she was loving every single day of school and being an all around amazing person, her grades were.....not so good. And, we knew she had potential to do better.

So, I only feel it is right and fair to report that she has successfully achieved her goals of improving those grades!!!! YAY ALLI!

Can I even begin to communicate how proud I am of her? No. It would just be annoying. I really am a bragging mom. I mean, I could go on and on about how loving and caring and nurturing and helpful she is. I could mention how hard she works, how independent she is, and how respectful she is of authority. I could mention the great choices she is making and the wonderful character of the friends she is choosing to spend time with. I could even gush about what an incredibly loving big sister she is. But, like I said that would be so annoying!

Let me just say that I am SO PROUD.
